So Jason, what made you make the switch to Firemind?
“With 2022 on the horizon, I knew that I wanted to find a new role that gave me the opportunity to not only expand my skill set, but switch things up for my engineering career. The ability to upskill and have the time to train in more specialised areas (such as Terraform, Node.js and Go Programming Language) was a huge draw to apply for a role at Firemind. I’m also able to enhance my engineering skills from the ‘get-go’, by booking training time and setting a roadmap towards a DevOps Professional Examination with AWS”.
Which areas of development interest you the most and what will be your main goals/objectives whilst working at Firemind?
“I tend to learn best by practice rather than simply assessing the theory, so I’m looking forward to advancing my broader knowledge on engineering practices and processes by being hands on. I’ll be tackling new projects that demand experience in Terraform and Node.js as well as working collaboratively on some exciting solutions and products within the Firemind portfolio. I’ll definitely be continuing my use cases and exploration on machine learning models, that’s an area that is close to my heart”.
Outside of cloud engineering, tell us a little about what you get up to?
“I’m a movie lover through and through! If it’s a space themed movie or based on some kind of apocalyptic event, I would have watched it! I’m also a regular badminton player as well as a hiker, often found atop the hilliest of hills.”
