Q&A
Welcome Tom to the Firemind team! For our viewers, could you please tell us a little about yourself and your professional background.
Hey! I began a sales role at the age of 17, working my way through the real estate industry as a Consultant and Senior Sales Consultant. It was here that I discovered my love for working closely with clients and building relationships with vendors. I then moved into a Sales position for a leading Watch specialists in the UK, before venturing into resourcing and recruitment.
How did you find out about us and what made you decide to apply for a role with Firemind?
Although I had not directly worked with Firemind, I had certainly heard of them. Within my recruitment career, they were mentioned heavily, and when a role became available that suited my requirements, I had to jump on it.
What is your role at Firemind?
I am now the Talent Acquisition Lead, working closely with the departments in the company to drive new talented individuals to the business.
Which areas of our business interested you the most?
I’ve joined Firemind at a very exciting time, where they are winning awards and being noticed on a global scale as a recognised Consultancy within the Amazon Web Services community. I’m excited to now be in a position where I can directly help them scale even further.
What will be your main goals/objectives whilst working at Firemind
Being a major driving force in hiring incredible talent across all departments within the business. Whether it’s Sales, Delivery, Technical or Marketing.
What do you hope to achieve within your first 12 months here?
We are looking to achieve some great things, and in order to do so we need more experienced specialists like we have now. My main goal is to drive the scalability of the business and ensure we continue to provide the same high quality projects for our customer base.
Outside of work, what do you get up to? Tell us about your hobbies.
I have always been football mad, playing and watching as much as I can from a very young age. However, I won’t be mentioning the team I support (let’s just say it’s been a sad couple of seasons).
I’ve also dabbled in a little bike riding this year, successfully completing the London to Brighton 55 mile race for charity earlier this year.
What’s your favourite song on your playlist right now?
I am deep into my country music at the moment, enjoying ‘I Remember Everything by Zach Bryan.
What is at the top of your bucket list?
My bucket list changed this year, as I became a first time Dad. My main goal in life is to now provide for my little one and ensure she has the best future!
What is one skill you would really love to learn?
So there’s two right now. I would love to be able to speak another language, and I’d also like to be a dog whisperer! I have two at the moment and they can be a handful.
How do you wind down after work?
Exercise is key for me, before or after work to unwind and reset.
