Zach Faulkner joins Firemind
as an engagement manager

We are thrilled to welcome Zach Faulkner to the Firemind team as our new Engagement Manager! Zach brings with him a wealth of experience from the EdTech and FinTech sectors, where he’s worked on financial distribution projects for large organisations. His passion for technology and customer success is a perfect fit for our mission at Firemind.

In his new role as Engagement Manager at Firemind, Zach will be working closely with our customers to ensure they receive the most effective solutions tailored to their needs. With his background in supporting large-scale financial distribution projects and his passion for the technical side of tech startups, Zach is perfectly positioned to help drive success for our customers.

He’ll be focusing on enhancing customer outcomes by leveraging the latest technology, ensuring that Firemind continues to deliver exceptional, forward-thinking service.

To help you get to know our newest team member a little better, we sat down with Zach for a quick Q&A. From his professional background to his hobbies outside of work, here’s a glimpse into what makes Zach tick! ⬇️

Q&A

Hey Zach. Welcome to the team! For our viewers, could you please tell us a little about yourself and your professional background?
 

For the last 3 years I’ve worked in EdTech/FinTech for Evouchers, supporting large, publicly funded organisations, with financial distribution projects within their localities through their software. I had the opportunity to explore all areas of a Tech start-up, and always found the technical side of things the most exciting and rewarding. I’m keen to bring that passion into the role of engagement at Firemind, to ensure our customers get the best solutions with the technology available.

How did you find out about us and what made you decide to apply for a role with Firemind?

I was connected with Tom Willmott on LinkedIn, and saw a post of his, that was looking for Engagement Manager’s to join the team. Out of curiosity, I requested a copy of the job description, did some background research, and had an initial conversation – the rest is history!

Through interview stages, it became clear that Firemind were not only a forward-thinking, customer focused organisation, but also one that sees the wellbeing of their team as a high priority. So with values that match my own, it was a no brainer!

What is your new role at Firemind?

I’m the new Engagement Manager, focusing on ensuring our customers receive the most effective solutions, tailored to their needs, by working closely with both the customers directly and with our talented technical teams internally.

Which aspects of your role are you most excited about?

Working closely with customers to ensure the most successful outcome possible!

Outside of work, what do you get up to? Tell us about your hobbies.

I’m a keen hiker with my little black Labrador, Lola. And of course, the classic answer – travelling and experiencing new cities and cultures.

What’s your favourite song on your playlist right now?

I’d like to plead the 5th… 👀

If you could only choose one dish to eat every meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Lasagna, without a doubt!

What is at the top of your bucket list?

Exploring the best of New Zealand and hiking through the countryside!

What is one skill you would really love to learn?

Sign Language – I can do the alphabet, but would love to actually be conversational with it.

And finally Zach, how do you wind down after work?

With a dog walk/run along the river.
